As Engine 21 was returning to the station, they heard Command 6 (Second District) report a house on fire somewhere on Charles Street. They proceeded in that direction and requested to run the assignment thru Charles County, who was unaware of the incident. At 1844 hours, Station 2 was alerted on the assignment with numerous Charles Stations.

Engine 21 arrived at 1846 hours with smoke showing from a one story, single family residence. The crew advanced the 400' thru side "alpha" finding fire on the rear porch area. The fire was quickly knocked as rews began to open up and check for extension. Engine 24 arrived and picked up Charles Engine 12's line.

Units operated for an hour and thirty minutes.
