| Crews worked vigourously over the past week cleaning Rescue Engine 222 and Command 2 to attend the Twin Valley Fire Department Housing and Parade on May 12th. Members became acquainted with Fire Captain Dan Brooks, of Twin Valley, as he is one of several Pennsylvania Firefighters that come fill-in for us at our banquet and other various events that we have held. In return, he asked our company to provide a fill-in overnight after the housing event so their members could have the night off. Crews departed Station 2 at 0500 hours with a three and a half hour trip ahead of them. Units arrived at Twin Valley at about 0900 hours and began the final touches before heading to the judging and registration area. Crews were recieving comments from other firemen and citizens the whole time they we were wiping down. Rescue Engine 222 and the Command Unit were judged and proceeded through the parade at 1300 hours. At 1600 hours trophies were awarded, and "The Deuce" was awarded two trophies, Company Coming the Longest Distance and The Most Functional and Best Equipped Command Unit. Rescue Engine 222 then joined in with all of the other apparatus in the traditional "wetdown" of the station. After the wet down, Rescue Engine 222 handled the "fill-in" with Martins Corner Engine 34-5 for the overnight shift. Crews were alerted to one call but it was cancelled seconds after dispatch. Crews had a great time and would like to congratulate the membership of the Twin Valley Fire Company for a job well done. https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/3rd-Alarm-Photography/208000269315611 http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=4jOiIeTald0#! |
