Motor Vehicle Collision with Fatality

At 1749 hours, the rescue assignment was sent to Three Notch Road and New Market Turner Road in the area of the Korner Karryout for the motor vehicle accident with entrapment. This alerted Rescue Squad 2, Rescue Squad 7, EMS Stations 29, 79 and SMALS.

Rescue Squad 2 (Lt Colvin) arrived, confirming one into a tree with heavy entrapment. Chief 22B (Woodill) arrived and established the "Three Notch Road Command".

Crews quickly went to work stabilizing the vehicle and setting up for extrication. Crews off of both rescues and the engine removed the drivers door and roof in order to access both patients. After a quick assessment, there was a priority one, category "A" patient, which a medevac was requested for and the other patient was found to be a priority four.

The driver was flown to Prince George's General by Trooper 7.

Units from Station 2 remained on the scene and assisted the Maryland State Police with the reconstruction.
