Rescue Company Attends Drill

Mechanicsville Volunteers, November 18

On Saturday morning five members took Rescue Squad 2 to Company 7 for a daylong rescue drill.
Topics covered included stabilization, lifting, and extrication.
Crews were intermixed between Departments and worked off the different Squads present.


Thanks to Company 7 for hosting a great drill and their Ladies Auxiliary for lunch!

Annual Boo Through a Success

Mechanicsville Volunteers, October 31

On Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at approximately 1900 hours, the Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department welcomed ghosts, ghouls, and goblins to entertain our guests as they drove through our new haunted firehouse.

Department Recieves Grant from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation

Mechanicsville Volunteers, October 21

On 10/2/2017 the MVFD was notified that they had received a grant from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation totaling $7,328.82.
We are both excited and honored to be selected for this grant.

This grant purchases new equipment to expand our vehicle stabilization capabilities, specifically tiebacks.


The grant also purchases new rope rescue equipment including;

Mechanicsville Volunteers , September 13

At 0957 hours Engine 2, Engine 5, Engine 1, Charles Engine 2, Truck 1, Truck 7, Rescue Squad 2, EMS Station 29 and EMS Station 59 were dispatched to 36975 West Winston Drive in Mechanicsville for the House Fire.

On Saturday September 9th, the Volunteers at Mechanicsville VFD hosted our first annual 5K run/walk in the Village of Mechanicsville. The event began at 9 am and featured a route that took participants north on Old Village Road through the Village of Mechanicsville and merged on the the Three Notch trail to make the turn around back to the firehouse.
