| On Monday the 31st, Mechanicsville VFD conducted a drill in conjunction with members of Hollywood VFD and NAS Patuxent River FD Truck 13 on the FASTBoard. These two departments already carry the FASTBoard, and provided their members who have attended the train-the-trainer course to train MVFD members, along with providing the boards to drill on.
The FASTBoard is a rescue device whose primary function is to remove a downed firefighter from a structure fire, but it can also be used to remove civilians. Additionally, it can function as a regular patient packaging, rescue, and removal device for use with our grain bin rescue equipment.
It was an excellent drill for all members. Mechanicsville VFD extends our deepest gratitude to the Hollywood VFD and NAS Pax River Fire Department members who provided us with this training. |
