March 15, 2016

At 1230 hours, Station 2 and surrounding companies were alerted to Chaptico Road and Budds Creek Road for a motor vehicle accident involving hazmat. Rescue Squad 2 made the response along with Chief 2, Engine 24 and Tanker 2.

Chief 2 arrived to find a propane delivery truck on its side with the driver self extricated and established the Chaptico Road Command. The corrected address was 37281 Chaptico Road. Rescue Squad 2 and Engine 10 checked the vehicle for leaks.

After surveying the scene, the truck was found to have a half tank of product with a small leak coming from one of the hoses. Engine 10's crew secured the shut off valves. Ambulance 296 transported the driver to Medstar St. Mary's Hospital.
