On Saturday evening, Rescue 2, Squad 1 and surrounding EMS units were alerted to Laurel Grove Road for the reported motor vehicle accident with reports of a vehicle into a tree and entrapment. Rescue 2(Lt. Barnes), Engine 21(DFC Krabbe), and Chief 7, who was in the area, all marked up responding immediately.

Rescue 2 and Chief 7 arrived first to confirm a vehicle into a tree with the operator trapped. Units went to work and Chief 7 established the command. Squad 1 was placed in service. Crews had to "pop" the drivers door and remove the steering wheel to free the trapped occupant.

The patient was turned over to awaiting EMS and units picked up and returned to service.
