Rescue Squad 2 was alerted to the area of 27118 Mechanicsville Road for the motor vehicle accident, reported one overturned with entrapment.

Fire Chief 2 arrived confirming a single vehicle that had overturned but was on its wheels. He also confirmed there was one trapped and advised the rescue they would need to remove the roof and drivers door to free the occupant. He established command and advised to hold the assignment with the rescue and paramedic ambulance. A medevac was also requested for a category "A", priority two patient.

The rescue arrived and went to work stabilizing and preparing for extrication. They completed the extrication in ten minutes.

Engine 21 established the landing site adjacent to the scene for Trooper 7. The patient was flown to Prince George's Trauma.

Units operated for approximately forty-five minutes.
