At 0158 hours, Stations 2, Charles 2, Charles 5, Charles Truck 3 and Ambulance 296 were alerted to 39485 Pocahontas Drive for the reported house on fire.
Engine 21 arrived on scene, side "alpha" with nothing evident. The lineman stretched a 1.75" to the front door finding moderate smoke conditions in the residence. Rescue Engine 22 arrived and established water supply for Engine 21. Fire Chief 2 established the "Pocahontas Drive Command".
Firefighters opened up the outside wall on side "bravo" and found fire around the chimney. The fire was knocked down and command scaled the incident back holding the units from Station 2 and Charles Truck 3. The truck crew split into two teams, one laddered the house and checked the chimney, while the other set up ventilation.
Firefighters checked the attic with the thermal imager and checked for further extension, finding none, command placed the incident under control and started releasing units.
Units operated for approximately two hours. |
