By Sergeant Ryan Raley
January 11, 2013

At 2041 hours, Rescue Engine 22, Charles Engines 2, and 5, EMS Stations 29, and Charles 2, and SMALS were alerted to Triangle Drive for the motor vehicle accident, one into a tree with entrapment. Rescue Engine 22(Sgt. Raley) and the Fire Chief(Raley) marked up at dispatch.

Charles Engine 22 arrived and confirmed one trapped, with Rescue Engine 22 arriving next, establishing command, and deploying the Hurst equipment to execute the extrication.

Crews found that they would need to remove all four doors, the roof, and raise the dash to extricate the trapped driver. Crews from Mechanicsville and Hughesville worked to extricate the driver, which was completed in under ten minutes of arrival.

Units: Rescue Engine 22, Fire Chief 2

Mutual Aid: Charles Engine 22, Charles Paramedic Ambulance 28, Paramedic Ambulance 298
