Annually the ladies auxiliary to the Maryland State Firemans Association have a fire prevention contest that consist of a theme project. This year the project was to develop an emergency card with a fire prevention message.
Our ladies auxiliary submission was titled "blow it out before you go out, don't leave candles unattended". There were thirty entries this year with all of them competing to win the coveted "Helen Mitchell Award", which is awarded to the first place project.
After all the projects were reviewed and judged, the Mechanicsville Ladies Auxiliary came out on top. Congratulations to the ladies auxiliary on winning the "Helen Mitchell Award" and to those members who worked on the project.
