By Chief John Raley
May 26, 2012

At 0233 hours, Station 22, Rescue Engine 22 and EMS Stations 29 and Charles 2 were alerted to All Faith Church Road and Golden Beach Road for the motor vehicle collision.

As units were marking enroute, Fireboard Communications upgraded the assignment, adding Charles County Rescue Squad 2 and SMALS with reports of one trapped in the vehicle. Chief 2B (Bellevou) arrived on the scene confirming entrapment and advised units to use caution approaching as a utility pole had been cut off with possible lines down. Engine 23 (Station 22) arrived next and stretched HRT equipment plus a protection line. Trooper 7 was started based on the information that was given but aborted the mission due to fog in the area.

Fire Chief 2 (Raley) and Chief 2A (Trowbridge) arrived with Rescue Engine 22 with Chief 2 establishing the "All Faith Church Road Command". Command assigned Chief 2B as the Rescue Group supervisor. Crews from all three fire units worked to free the occupant who was turned over to awaiting EMS personnel once extricated.

Charles Ambulance 28 started towards Prince George's General but ended up transporting to Civista Medical Center with Medic 2, priority one.

Units operated for an hour and twenty minutes on the incident.

Units: Rescue Engine 22, Engine 23, Fire Chief 2, Chief 2A, Chief 2B
Mutual Aid: Charles Rescue Squad 2, Charles Ambulance 28, Ambulance 299, Medic 2
