One Trapped on Thompson's Corner Road

At 1617 hours, the rescue assignment was alerted to the area of 28220 Thompson's Corner Road, near Millwood Lane for the motor vehicle accident. Initial reports advised of two vehicles head on, with entrapment. This alerted Rescue Engine 22, Charles Rescue Engine 141, Charles Rescue Squad 10, EMS Stations 29, Charles 2, Charles 15 and SMALS Medic 2.

Chief 2A arrived on location confirming the information given at dispatch and established the "Thompson's Corner Road Command". Rescue Engine 22 (FF/EMNT Raley) arrived on the scene and went to work stabilizing the vehicle and deploying the HRT equipment for the extrication.

Firefighters removed the drivers door and rolled the dash in order to free the trapped driver and command returned Rescue Squad 10, Rescue Engine 141 and Charles Ambulance 158.

After assessment, both patients would require aeromedical transport and Trooper 7 was alerted to the incident.

Both patients were transported to Prince George's General by Trooper 7 and Engine 23 handled the lnading zone at Millwood Lane and Thompson's Corner.

Units operated on the scene for just over an hour.
