At 1631 hours, Engine Companies 7, 2, 1, 9, Truck 7, Water Supply 5, and EMS Stations 79 and 29 were alerted to 42306 Allison Drive in Sandgates for the reported house fire with smoke coming from the attic.
Engine 24 (Lt Cox), and Rescue 2 (AFC Trowbridge) went enroute with ten at dispatch. Chief 7(Brady) arrived to find a one story, single family home with nothing showing but an odor in the house. He advised the first engine and first special service to report to Side "alpha" and no need to drop a supply line as the the fire had already been extinguished.
Engine 24, and Rescue Squad 2 arrived simultaneously and went to work investigating both the attic and first floor area for the source. Crews found insulation on top of a light fixture in the attic that had caught fire. The power was secured and the insulation was removed. The house was scanned with the thermal imager as Command scaled teh assignment back to Engine 24, 73, and Rescue 2 for clean-up.
Units operated on the scene for approximately thirty minutes.
