Serious Motorcycle Accident In Maddox
At 1347 hours, Stations 2, 29 and 59 were alerted to a motor vehicle accident, involving a motorcycle on Chaptico Road in the area of Budds Creek Road. As units were responding new information was received that the accident was located at Maddox Road and Notley Hall Road. Company 5 was added to the call.
Rescue Squad 2, Engine 23 and Chief 2A responded on the run. Information was received that the patient was seriously injured and a medevac was started based on the information provided. Ambulance 599 along with Engine 23 and Squad 2 arrived on the scene and located a single motorcycle with a single patient in the woods. Based on the injuries the helicopter was cancelled. Chief 2A assumed command until Chief 5 arrived.
Crews from Company 2 and Company 5 assisted with removing the patient. Ambulance 599 transported the patient priority one to St. Mary's Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The scene was turned over to the Sheriff's Office and all units went in service within an hour.
