Accidents Keep Volunteers Busy

On Tuesday, February 14th @ 1022 hours, Rescue Squad 2 and Engine 23 responded with an EMS units from Station 29 to a motor vehicle accident on Thompson Corner Road in the area of Ryceville Road. Initial reports of one into a tree. Units arrived to confirm same and the occupant out of the vehicle. One patient was transported and units cleared in under thirty minutes. Chief 22B held the Thompson Corner Road Command.

At 0429 hours on February 17th, Stations 2, 29 and Charles EMS 2 were alerted to the southbound lanes of Three Notch Road near the intersection of Golden Beach Road for a motor vehicle accident.

Chief 22B arrived on the scene to find a passenger car versus a box truck in a rear end style collision. Chief 2A held the command and found it to be property damage only. One driver had left the scene and Ambulance 299 obtained a refusal on the other driver. Squad 2 controlled scene hazards and returned to quarters.

Approximately 5 minutes after returning to quarters Squad 2 was re-alerted to return to the scene. Fireboard Communications advised that a vehicle had struck police vehicles still on the scene of the accident and were requesting scene lighting for accident reconstruction.

Squad 2 returned and assisted the Sheriffs Office for approximately one hour.
