At 1223 hours, the rescue assignment was alerted to Three Notch Road just south of Hills Club Road for the motor vehicle accident. The crash was heard at the station just prior to the diaptch. The assignment sent Rescue Engine 222, Fire Chief 2, EMS Stations 29, Charles EMS 2 and SMALS with inital reports advising one unconscious.
As units maked up, Fireboard Communications advised they were receiving reports of entrapment, which added Charles Rescue Squad 2. Rescue Engine 222 arrived on the scene within a minute, advising two vehicles and investigating with Fire Chief 2 establishing the "Three Notch Road Command". One patient was confirmed trapped, who was rapidly extricated due to being unconscious. At this time a medevac was requested bringing Trooper 7 to the scene.
Charles Squad 2 was routed to EMS Station 29 to establish the landing site for Trooper 7 where Engine 24 joined them. No patients ended up being medevaced and Trooper 7 went in service.
The patient eventually went into trauma arrest and was transported priority one to St. Mary's Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Two other patients were transported priority two and priority three to St. Mary's Hospital while the operator of the other vehicle signed a refusal.
Units operated on the scene for approximately forty-five minutes.
