House Fire on Three Notch Road

At 1718 hours, Stations 2, 22, Charles 2, Charles 5, 7, Water Supply 5, Truck Company 7 and EMS Stations 29 and Charles 2 were alerted to 28795 Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville for the working fire house fire.
Engine 224 (Lt Cox) arrived on the scene of two story, single family dwelling on side "alpha" with smoke showing. The crew advanced a 1.75" attack line thru the front door finding the fire had burned a hole thru the floor. The truck crew opened up the residence while searches proved to be negative.
After the fire was knocked, command scaled the incident back to Stations 2, 22, Charles 2, Truck 7 and Ambulance 299 for overhaul. Southern Maryland Electric and the Fire Marshal were requested to the scene.
The fire is under investigation and tenative cause is to be a kerosene heater. Chief 2A (Emmart) held the "Three Notch Road Command" while Chief 2B (Barnes, Sr) had the operations sector.
Units operated on the scene for two hours and the fill in was handled by Charles County Engine 11 and Tanker 10
